Meet Beatrice, one of our wonderful C.N.A.s at Bridges by EPOCH at Hingham. Beatrice began working at Bridges just over a year ago, after she was hand-picked by our executive director (then wellness director), Nadine Shweiri. We can’t say enough about our delightful Beatrice. She loves to sing, dance and bring some silliness into our residents’ lives.
Originally from Haiti, Beatrice moved to the United States when she was 19. Still stateside seven years later, she loves the opportunities that living here has afforded her, including working at Bridges. As a C.N.A., Beatrice works alongside her coworkers to look after our residents by helping in both day-to-day activities as well as their personal care. She manages their health, safety, personal care and medication administration, while providing for their comfort and happiness. Beatrice helps them get ready for the day, attend to activities like summertime campus events, and also keep their rooms tidy and comfortable.
Beatrice loves the teamwork aspect of working with us. “It’s a great environment,” she says. “My job is my home.” Of her work with the residents, Beatrice states that getting to know them is her favorite part of the job, but recognizes that doing so is very important for the job itself. “You learn your residents. If you don’t know your residents, you can’t manage them when something happens.” A fun, energetic person, Beatrice loves to engage them through music, dancing and singing throughout the day. In doing so, she says, “We create something together.”
She also boasts smarts, and is currently in school to get her associates degree for respiratory care. We’re sure she’ll put her skills to great use here at Bridges. We’re so happy to know Beatrice and look forward to her next song and dance moves!
